Departmental Aims

To encourage students to :-

bullet

use ICT resources effectively and independently

bullet

demonstrate a practical competence in using effectively a number of Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel and Access

bullet

further understanding and appreciation of ICT applications within everyday situations

bullet

acknowledge and appreciate reasons for, and issues relating to, the protection of data

bullet

recognise the importance of ICT in the continued development of society as a whole

Key Stage 3

ICT is taught in a cross-curricular manner as a part of the students KS3 subjects. Particular modules of work, using ICT as a tool, are completed in English, Science, Maths, Languages, Geography, with others being developed constantly.

An ICT module is also run as a part of the Pastoral Programme which students carry out in their tutor groups. Year 9 pastoral tasks.
